The BAK1 bak1 (Catalog #MBS200178) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The BAK1 antibody (AT8B4) reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s BAK1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunofluorescence (IF).
The antibody has been tested by ELISA, Western blot and Immunofluorescence analysis to assure specificity and reactivity. Since application varies, however, each investigation should be titrated by the reagent to obtain optimal results. Recommended dilution range for Western blot analysis and Immunofluorescence is 1:250 ~ 500. Recommended starting dilution is 1:250. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the BAK1 bak1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.

The BAK1 bak1 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #4502363) (NCBI Accession #NP_001179). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the BAK1 antibody (AT8B4) with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (Mouse lung lysates (35ug) were resolved by SDS-PAGE, transferred to NC membrane and probed with anti-human BAK1 (1:500). Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-mouse secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and an ECL detection system.)
Western Blot (WB) BAK1.

Immunofluorescence (IF) (Immunofluorescence of human HeLa cells stained with Hoechst 3342 (Blue) for nucleus staining and monoclonal anti-human BAK1 antibody (1:500) with Texas Red (Red).)
Immunofluorescence (IF) BAK1.

BAK1 encodes an receptor-like kinase (RLK) with a putative extracellular domain, a single transmembrane domain, an intracellular-juxtamembrane domain, and a kinase domain. BAK1 expression is associated with the progression of Prostate cancer (CaP). BAK1 appears to function in distinct receptor-signaling complexes to integrate multiple microbe-associated molecular pattern (MAMP) perception into downstream-signaling events. BAK1 can serve multiple purposes to simultaneously modulate MAMP-receptor complexes, BR signaling, and cell death for the benefit of bacterial infection, life style, and fitness.

Antigen Species: Human
Clone: Anti-human BAK1 mAb, clone AT8B4, is derived from hybridization of mouse F0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from BALB/c mice immunized with a recombinant human BAK1 protein.
Immunogen: Recombinant human BAK1 (29-187aa) purified from E.coli. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing BAK1 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as BAK1 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
