The AKT3/PKBg akt3 (Catalog #MBS462008) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit anti AKT3/PKBgamma antibody reacts with Human, Rat, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s AKT3/PKBg can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry.Western Blot: 0.1-1 ug/ml
ELISA: 0.01-0.1 ug/ml
Immunoprecipitation: 2-5 ug/ml
Immunohistochemistry: 0.5-2 ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the AKT3/PKBg akt3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The AKT3/PKBg akt3 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #62089468) (Uniprot Accession #Q56A86). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Testing Data
Akt [also known as PKB (Protein kinase B) is a family of serine/threonine kinases that plays an important role in signal transduction. There are three known isoforms of Akt in mammalian cells [Akt1 (alpha), Akt2 (beta) and Akt3 (gamma)]; Akt2 and Akt3 have 81% and 83% homology in amino acid sequences with Akt1, respectively. Numerous studies have revealed that the expression pattern of Akt1 and Akt2 is ubiquitous, whereas Akt3 is expressed predominantly in brain, heart, and kidney. Akt is activated by insulin and growth and survival factors. EGF-induced Akt3 activation was demonstrated by Ser-472 phosphorylation of Akt3 but in a restrictive fashion. A recent report suggests a contribution of Akt3 to the aggressive phenotype of human breast cancer, thus Akt seems to confer a growth advantage to tumor cells.
Antigen Preparation: A synthetic peptide corresponding to the intra domain 120-132aa of human AKT3 protein. Positive Control: Hela lysate
Cellular Location: Cytoplasmic or membrane. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing AKT3/PKBg are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as AKT3/PKBg may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. Brain, Embryonic Tissue, Heart, Kidney, Liver, Lung, Muscle, Prostate, Skin, Vascular tissues are correlated with this protein.
