The ACTA1 acta1 (Catalog #MBS500031) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Actin reacts with General and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Actin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunohistochemistry (IHC).Quality Control: Western blots performed on each lot.
WB:1:5,000
IHC: 1:500
IF: 1:500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ACTA1 acta1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The ACTA1 acta1 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #71894831) (NCBI Accession #NP_001026234.1) (Uniprot Accession #P68139). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the Anti-Actin with the following immunoassay(s):
Testing Data
Mouse monoclonal antibody.
Antigen: Chicken gizzard actin.
Immunogen Information: Preparation of chicken gizzard actin
Immunogen Species: Chicken. Species Reactivity Note: The antibody reacts with all known actins from yeast to man.
Biological Significance: Actin is the most abundant protein found in virtually all eukaryotic cells. It is also one of the most highly-conserved proteins, differing by no more than 20% in species as diverse as algae and humans, making it an excellent choice for use as a loading control. It is the monomeric subunit of microfilaments, one of the three major components of the cytoskeleton, and of thin filaments, which are part of the contractile apparatus in muscle cells. Thus, actin participates in many important cellular functions, including muscle contraction, cell motility, cell division and cytokinesis, vesicle and organelle movement, cell signaling, and the establishment and maintenance of cell junctions and cell shape. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing ACTA1 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as ACTA1 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. Atrophy, Cardiovascular Diseases, Fetal Death, Fibrosis, Heart Diseases, Hepatomegaly, Hypertrophy, MYOPATHY, CONGENITAL, WITH FIBER-TYPE DISPROPORTION, Nemaline myopathy 3, Nervous System Diseases are some of the diseases may be linked to Anti-Actin. Adipose Tissue, Brain, Embryonic Tissue, Head, Heart, Muscle, Uncharacterized Tissue tissues are correlated with this protein.
